Job Description

Location: Midlands / South-based role with UK-wide project travel

Salary: Up to £85,000 + wider benefits (dependent on experience)

This isn’t just another construction role. This is a career-defining opportunity to step into a leadership position and build something from the ground up.

As an already experienced project or construction manager, you'll know the skills and qualifications needed (list at the bottom for reference). You already understand that successful delivery goes beyond site activity and you can bring rigour to the commercial, contractual and reporting aspects that keep complex projects on track.

So what makes this opportunity different?

You’ll be joining a high-growth, private equity-backed energy business at a pivotal moment, as a strong pipeline of projects moves from development into delivery. Rather than inheriting a rigid structure, you’ll play a key role in shaping how the construction and project management function evolves, influencing processes, standards and ways of working from the outset.

For the right person, this is a genuine step up. If you’ve been mentoring junior team members or informally leading on projects, this role offers the chance to formalise that leadership. You will have the opportunity to build and develop your own team as the project pipeline scales.

What makes this especially exciting is the environment. This is not a slow, process-heavy organisation, it’s a fast-paced, entrepreneurial business where priorities shift, decisions happen quickly, and people are trusted to take ownership. You’ll need to be comfortable operating in a level of ambiguity, but in return you’ll have real autonomy, visibility, and the ability to make a lasting impact.

You’ll be working on critical infrastructure projects that support the UK’s transition to a more flexible, low-carbon energy system, giving the role both commercial importance and real-world purpose.

Culturally, the business values attitude, ambition and adaptability as much as experience. It’s a place for people who want to step up, take responsibility, and grow with the company, not just deliver against a fixed job spec.
