Job Description

Environmental Advisor

Coventry/ West Midlands (Site-Based)
£45,000 – £47,000 + Benefits

An opportunity has arisen for an Environmental Advisor to join a major infrastructure project in the Midlands, supporting the delivery of one of the UK’s most significant transport programmes.

You will be joining a large, internationally backed joint venture delivering complex civil engineering works across a flagship national infrastructure scheme. This role offers the chance to work directly on-site within construction, supporting environmental compliance and helping drive environmental best practice across a high-profile project.

The Role

As Environmental Advisor, you will support the Environmental Manager and wider project team to ensure environmental standards and requirements are met across site operations.

Key responsibilities include:
  • Ensuring site works comply with the Construction Code of Practice and environmental requirements
  • Supporting the development and implementation of Environmental Management System (EMS) documentation and processes
  • Assisting with environmental mitigation measures and monitoring programmes
  • Ensuring construction methodologies meet Environmental Minimum Requirements
  • Supporting environmental reporting and compliance activities
  • Managing environmental risks and opportunities through environmental registers
About You:
  • 3–5 years’ experience in an environmental role within civil engineering or construction projects
  • Experience working directly on site rather than purely consultancy-based roles
  • Knowledge of environmental legislation and environmental management within construction
  • Experience supporting EMS processes and environmental reporting
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work closely with site teams
Location

Based on site in Coventry, with occasional travel across Midlands project locations.

 Salary & Benefits
  • £45,000 – £47,000 salary
  • Private healthcare from day one
  • Site travel allowance
  • Accommodation and subsistence support for candidates travelling longer distances
  • Potential company vehicle or car allowance depending on employer structure
Development

The organisation offers strong career development with access to training, a dedicated L&D function and opportunities to progress into more senior environmental roles across a large international infrastructure group.

If you have experience supporting environmental compliance on civil engineering or infrastructure projects and are looking to develop your career on a major construction programme, I would welcome a confidential conversation.
